Co-Chair

Election statement

I am honored to be nominated for Co-Chair of the LAAC, and I would be very happy to fulfill the duties of this role if elected. I believe that the LAAC plays a crucial role in the LSC, now more than ever in the era of big GW science with regular detections. If elected Co-Chair I would work to continue the great work that the LAAC does in bringing new junior members into the fold of the LSC with (among other things) the LAAC tutorial sessions at the LVC(K) meetings, and to support junior scientists in their burgeoning careers as LSC scientists. I have spent more or less my entire scientific career as part of the LSC, and I have seen first hand the benefits of the collaboration for junior scientists. I have previously served as a Postdoctoral Representative for the LAAC, and have also been an LVC ally for several years, so I am quite familiar with the LAAC’s roles and functions. I would be glad to continue to coordinate with the LVC Allies to make the collaboration (and specifically collaboration meetings) a nurturing and safe environment for junior scientists. The people who make up the LSC are our most valued resource, so I will endeavor to make sure that especially those junior members get just as much out as they put in. Thanks for electing me!
